West Weaver St. was opened to thru motor vehicle traffic on Monday, January 23, 2012, beginning around 11:00 am. The remaining project work will continue with minor disruptions to traffic. Pedestrian access may occasionally be directed to one side of the street or the other depending on the proximity of construction activities.
The Weaver St. Reconstruction Project is nearing completion of a year-long project that began on March 7, 2011, involving the replacement of an existing water main, installation of additional storm inlets and piping, and the removal and reconstruction of the existing road.
Benefits of the project include long term improvement for the roadway, better storm sewer
drainage, improved fire protection, and improved ADA access at crosswalks and driveways.
